Since 2012, this annual event brought together researchers, innovators, physicians, staff, and the public to explore the groundbreaking work being conducted at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. It aimed to educate, showcase cutting-edge advancements, and foster collaboration in science, technology, and medicine through a variety of engaging formats, including scientific talks, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and interactive poster sessions.

As program manager, I was responsible for conceptualizing and developing ideas, creating a detailed timeline, managing the budget, inviting guest speakers, organizing a variety of sessions and activities, and providing comprehensive support throughout the planning and execution phases. My support was integral to the event’s success; without my involvement in coordinating these critical components, the event would not have been possible.

Shark Tank

These ‘Shark Tank’ style competitions provided funding for innovative projects across various research areas, including digital health and opioid research. Faculty, industry experts, and other distinguished guests, known as “Sharks”, were invited to evaluate and vote on the top projects. The awarded projects demonstrated the following: scientific merit & novelty to advance research progress, potential for commercialization, or other meaningful improvements, such as patient care or reducing costs.

My role involved overseeing logistics and providing on-site support to ensure the seamless execution of the event. This included liaising with the development representative, securing venue space, coordinating catering and rental orders, and managing on-site operations to deliver a successful and well-executed event.
